When a player is caught cheating (whether it’s hiding money, stealing property, or any other dishonest act), the following consequences apply:
Confession or Accusation:
A player must be caught cheating by another player, and the cheater must be accused. If the cheater denies the accusation, they must submit their hand (or any hidden property) for inspection. If they are found guilty, they must follow the penalty.
Penalty:
The cheating player must return all illegally gained assets (money, properties, or cards) to the bank or the rightful owner.
Monetary Fine: The player must pay a fine of 500 Monopoly dollars (or a set amount chosen before the game starts) as punishment for cheating.
Turn Suspension:
The cheater loses their next turn as an additional penalty for attempting to undermine the game’s integrity.
Final Warning:
The first time a player is caught cheating, they will receive a warning. If caught a second time during the same game, they are disqualified and must leave the game.
This rule adds both a deterrent to cheating and a structured consequence for players caught in the act, while keeping the game fun and fair for everyone!
